Holiday Makeup

Hello makeup lovers everywhere...
This is my first official makeup post.

So, for Christmas, I decided to do a brown, smokey kinda look. I didn't have anything in mind specifically, just went with it. This is what I ended up with.
I really loved the final look. Heres is the finished look. I used Olay moisturizer after getting out of the shower. I ran out of primer, so I used the moisturizer as a base/primer. I always start with concealer. I used my Cover Girl Smoothers concealer in the shade Medium.
After my concealer, I applied my foundation. I've been using an anti-aging foundation by Loreal that I borrowed from my mom, and I've been loving it. I think it's called Vitalife. It goes on so smoothly and helps with that flawless look.

For my eyes, I used my Coastal Scents 88 Warm Palette. Every single color I used was from that palette. This palette is my favorite lately. It has a mixture of neutrals as well and some metallic colors. Perfect for fall/winter looks.

I finished the look by adding some color to my cheeks. I used the limited edition Solar Riche by M.A.C. It's supposed to be a bronzer but it was perfect for this warm look. I used a discontinued Revlon lipstick in Nude Shell (I think) and topped it with NYX's lip gloss in Smokey Look. Last step was adding the E.L.F false lashes. This brought the whole look together. Hope you enjoyed this post lovelies. I'd love your feedback and to see some of your holiday looks.

Happy Holidays to YOU

Can you believe it's already Christmas?! It's crazy time really flies.

Anywho, just thought I'd come by and quickly post a random blog as I listen to some Coldplay.

Christmas time for me, means family time. I am SUPER close to my family and holidays are just another excuse to get together. I wouldn't have it any other way. Great food, great company, and getting gifts is just a PLUS! Love this time of year more than anything. I love the smell of Christmas trees, I love seeing all the pretty lit up house, the smell of eggnogg, Christmas shopping, wrapping gifts, and even the way it just smells like winter outside. It's so perfect.

As I've posted about before, my dad is fighting cancer so this year is different just based on that. We were in and out of hospitals for a good month before even knowing what was wrong with him. Once he was diagnosed, he started treatment immediately and even after a few months went by, I never wanted to leave the house. I wanted/want to spend every single waking moment with him because I realized that how fragile life really is, and not one day is promised. It's taken me awhile to realize I can kind of relax and breath a little bit but I can definately tell you that I've become even closer with my family. Christmas is a time when you should realize how blessed you truly are, and be thankful for what you have. I thank God for my parents every day.

On that note my friends, I just wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas if you celebrate and a very Happy New Year. I have a great feeling that 2011 will be life changing for me. Heres to hoping....

Walk, Walk WINTER Fashion Baby...

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...and you know what that means! Coats, boots, scarves, and gloves!! Yes, Winter Fashion. This is my favorite time of year, not only because I live in Arizona where we get up to 115 degrees in the summer and anything below 90 is a blessing here BUT, it's also my favorite season to dress for. There's nothing like those perfect tall, suede boots that you save up for this time of year, OR those amazing animal print tights for a cute dress or skirt. Personally, I love anything with bows, and I think it adds that extra feminine touch whether it be on your top, or your shoes. It's also a time to bust out your darker, vampy makeup. Throw on that perfect LBD with your favorite coat, some leopard tights, with your bright shoes, and don't forget the dark lips. Berry shades are perfect for winter. Keep the eyes neutral with a smokey finish. Try any browns, burgandy, or oranges for the lid keep the cheeks semi sheer and you're ready for all the holiday parties!

So, to help get into the holiday cheer I thought I'd make a little (not so little) post to suggest a few MUST haves for winter.

Let Your Mind Run Free

So, I recently had my 25th birthday (Nov 10th) and I got a few awesome gifts. My favorite has to be the new camera I got from my wonderful parents. The last time I got a digital camera was over 3 years ago in New York City. I still love my smaller Sony to death, but just wanted something that was more for HD pictures and videos. They got me the Nikon CoolPix P100 and I absolutely love it. I will definately be having a lot of fun with it. Here are a few of the "practice shots" I took today. Random post, I know but just wanted to share the excitement.

Thanksgiving *

That time of year has come and gone. Turkey Day! So far this year has already been one for the books. I sit and ponder about all that has happened so far and realize that I have so much to be thankful for this year. Mid-Summer my dad was diagnosed with Lymphoma. It's one of those things that you NEVER expect to happen to you or anyone close to you. Strange as it may sound, my dad being sick has been a blessing in disguise. Like they say with sickness and death you realize who your true friends are...and I can now vouch for that. I have never felt more loved, and cared for my not only my close friends but my family has been amazingly supportive through this experience. It's brought us closer than ever. I've learned a whole lot about myself and I've grown as a person going through this. I never realized how strong I was. I learned that sometimes you have to put others feelings above your own no matter how hard it may be. I've also learned how fragile life is, and how every moment should be cherished and never taken for granted.

I've also learned the power of prayer. I've always believed in God, or a higher power but I've truly experienced it first hand and I know that God is watching over my daddy. He is guiding my daddy back to his health. There is no other way around it. With the power of science and faith my dad has been on his journey to beat this cancer. Every time he goes in for chemo, the Dr is pleasantly surprised at how well he is doing. The dr expect a full recovery, and while we can never cancel out the cancer completely, I feel that it is in God's hands and he is going to cure him. So with that being said, I am thankful to have my health, thankful to wake up everyday and learn something new, to see the world in a different light and just take in every second and enjoy life. I am truly thankful to have my family. I couldn't have made it through the last few months without them or my best friends. Cherish those you love, spend time with those who matter to you and don't take your life and those around you for granted. You never know how long you have them around for.
